 abundance of literary activities like debate, declamation, extempore, story telling, paper reading, creative writing etc that provide ample opportunities to the students for the harmonious development of their personalities and broaden there mental horizon.
An alert and active mind resides in a healthy body. The school is not far behind in the sphere of games that form an integral part of school curriculum. It provides extensive arrangements for the physical activities, athletics and sports, judo karate, aerobics gymnastics etc. Expert Coaches are appointed for the games in which students show special promise. The school encourages the sportsman spirit, physical and mental health of students by regularly organizing matches and races. The school also has a band to liven up every programme held in the school.

Swami Sant Dass Public School bags prestigious FAP awards-Best School in academics, sports, culture and Best Principal award

Swami Sant Dass Public School, Jalandhar added accolades to it’s prestige by clinching honours at a splendid ceremony organised by FAP (Federation of Private Schools and Associations of Punjab) at a mega award ceremony organised at Chandigarh University on 16-17 November, 2024. The awards were conferred by eminent personalities President FAP Mr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri and Governor Punjab Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria. Principal Dr. Sonia Mago was awarded Best Principal in academic excellence also. The institution was also awarded as Best School in Academic Excellence. Meritorious students Soumil Goindi ( class X) and Jasleen Kaur (Class XII) were awarded as ‘PRIDE OF INDIA’ for their outstanding result in CBSE Board Examination 2024. Vanya Jindal (VI ) was awarded for excelling in MEGA OLYMPIAD COMBAT along with her mentors Ms. Isha Jindal and Ms. Jasminder Kaur. The school bagged BEST IN SPORTS award and two budding sportspersons of the school Akhilesh Panwar (Table Tennis) and Vansh Bhatti (cricket) were honoured for their performance in the field of sports and their mentor Mr. Harvinder Singh was awarded the BEST SPORTS MENTOR for his constant guidance and encouragement to the students in sports events.Manmeet Kaur of class VIII A also got FAP Culture Award and was mentored by Ms.Pooja ( Craft teacher ). She was also felicitated for the Best Performing Arts Instructor Award. These awards are conferred on the basis of merit and to schools and leaders imparting excellence in the field of teaching, education and sports.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMERS DURING ANNUAL FUNCTION

Annual Day is a gala day to celebrate the performance of ebullient students. The day is also marked by some outstanding performances as students delivered exuberant stage show. 'Vision 2050' depicted futuristic world of Robots was announced as the best item by winning a cash prize of Rs 15000. The Head Girl Jasleen Kaur (X C) was the best anchor while Simran (XIID) Gurjot Singh (1 C) and Gurseerat Kaur (VIII D) emerged out as best singer best dancer and actor respectively . They all got cash prize of Rs 1000/- each.

Not only these some other outstanding performers were also felicitated during special assembly. Angelpreet (IX C) and Agamjot Singh (IV A) were presented trophy for their great achievements in the field of badminton. Ridhima (X B) also was awarded on stage for her dancing performances she had displayed so far.

The skater Pritika (V D) Arjun ( XC) ,Sehajsaroop (IX A),

Arushi (II A) , Aryan (VI B), Samridhi (VII A) were also appreciated by the Principal Dr. Sonia Mago with cash prizes. She further highlighted their dedication as the wheels of hardwork churned during preparation days.

Another cherishing moment for our school as we hit hattrick in a month by clinching OVERALL TROPHY in another inter school fest. A unicorn moment as we hit the basket in various categories of competitions. In salad making Sara (IX D) and Gauri (IX D) decorated delicious appetizing platter of Salad and won FIRST PRIZE. Our Sudoku Master Daksh Shaan Singh (IX D) has beaten every hurdle to bag FIRST PRIZE. Mehakpreet (XI C) with her calligraphic strokes also topped the fest with FIRST PRIZE. Simran (XII B) spread the magic of SOLO SINGING and again got FIRST PRIZE while Himalaya (X B) mimicked various stars to catch hold of SECOND PRIZE while our SOLO DANCE PERFORMER Deepanshi (XII A) captured the stage to bag THIRD PRIZE. Ridhima (IX A) flaunted well in costume parade with a but obvious FIRST WIN. Group Dance performers Prithmheynoor Singh (IX A), Kartik (IX D), Saarang (X A), Ravjot Singh (X A), Sanket (X C) rocked with their Bhangra performance to get SECOND PRIZE. The Principal Dr. Sonia Mago admired their hard earned recognition and appreciated them as they all bought laurels to the institution.

Quiz is a mind game to give immediate response. One should always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other. Our students participated in 'Intact Heritage Quiz' organised by DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur. We are happy to announce that Rachit Thakur (IX-B), Anmol ( X-C) has won the SECOND POSITION, Hemang Arora (IX-B), Shiven (IX-C) won THIRD POSITION .

Another feather in our cap is added by Utkarsh (IX-B), Saksham Maini (IX-B) as they participated in State Level AI FEST organised by Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus and we are elated to announce that our team throbbed everyone with their FIRST POSITION.

Also, Anmol (X-B), Rachit Thakur (IX-B) won THIRD POSITION in Quiz on General Awareness held at LPU.

All of them deserve a thunderous applause.

HEADS HIGH UP IN PRATIBHA UTSAV

When you tap your ideas with dedication, it's but obvious to reasonate success with momentos.

In Pratibha Utsav held at DAV College, Jalandhar, our students produced landmark results in various competitions.

In Science working model Raghav Jain and Arshpreet of XI -A clinched SECOND PRIZE. While our quizzers Rachit Thakur (IX B) , Anmol (X B) and Aarav Bhardwaj (IX A) won SECOND PRIZE and Ipsa (X A) , Vash (IX C) gleamed up with THIRD PRIZE. It's not in intellectual arena only but in entertainment field also students displayed their talent as Myra, Harkirat of IX C won SECOND PRIZE and Prabhjot and Jayant of XI A won FIRST PRIZE in Reel Making. Simran of XII B with her Solo Singing performance mesmerized the audience to grab CONSOLATION PRIZE.

Divyam Taxali (6-A) participated in Chess tournament in Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, Kapurthala. With his accurate moves and able front in the board game, he defeated his rival and clinched BRONZE MEDAL.

There is no denial to this fact that who flow as life flows, know they need no other force. To sustain, learning is important which is sought with ardor and attended to with diligence. Youth Ideathon2024 (YI24) is a competition to be conducted by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India. The theme of this event is “iStartup a Good Thing for India”. In the 2024 edition, Youth ideathon is introducing a novel Rs. 1000 Challenge to motivate young students to build a real innovation or a real start up under resource constraints.

In Stage 1, more than 1 lakh students participated and more than 15000 ideas were presented and our 8 ideas were selected for stage 2. We were among top 1500 in stage 1.

In stage 2 our 5 ideas are selected for stage 3. In this stage total 6 ideas have been selected in the city and 5 ideas are from our school. Each team has been awarded with Rs. 1000/- to shape their ideas.

The team T2V2S comprised of Siddak, Tanishq, Trinav, Vaibhav and Vihaan.

Challenge Champions is the innovative idea of Garima, Vaibhav and Smarth.

Dynamic Dreamers is a dream of Rasmeen kaur and Samya.

Lovish Ohri, Tanmay Sarangal , Anant Grover presented their iconic adventure in the form of The Youth Icons,

while Drug Dosage Metrics is designed by Ipsa Taxali, Hargun Preet Singh, Veronika Kapoor.

They really deserve thunderous applaud for their innovative ideas.

The Principal Dr. Sonia Mago also motivated them saying that they should make a plan about how they are going to get there and follow that plan.

National Anveshika experimental skill test, organised by National Anveshika Network of India, aims to test the observational skills, concepts and experimental skills of students in Physics. Our young observers marked their skills with recognition n the prelims round after clearing the screening round. Pavni Dhir (IX-D) Tushar (XI-A) stood SECOND. They got cash prize of ₹750 each. Ipsa Taxali (X-A) and Akul Kohli (XI-A) got THIRD POSITION. They were also rewarded with a cash prize of ₹500 each. Their hardwork and sincerity has made these outcomes possible.

The Principal Dr. Sonia Mago congratulated them for their immemorable takeaways as they have cleared screening round accompanied by a set of thought-provoking multiple choice questions.

Our student Manmeet of VIIIA won THIRD PRIZE in Sahodaya Paper Bag Making Competition held at CJS Public School, Jalandhar.

This competition witnessed enthusiastic participation of 32 entries . Our young artist displayed her idea with intricate drawings and thoughtful message.

SKATING GLORY

Taking part in a championship of great calibre is not just about winning; it’s about learning, growing, and gaining valuable experience.

The roller skater Amarveer Singh (8-A) from our school demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship and camaraderie, earning not just medals but also respect on the track. He participated in 24th district roller skating championship 2024 held at Police DAV Public school PAP campus Jalandhar from 30th to 31 July 2024, the competition was organised by district roller skating Association, Jalandhar Amar Veer Singh got the following prizes:

delicate skin of words.’

One can embrace the world through rhythmic verses.

Our young Poetic Wizards Vaachi (4-C), Sahib Singh(4-C) and Ravneet Singh (4-C) took a commonplace, cleaned it and polished it to produce the effect of youth, freshness and came out as poets. They etched their impressions in daily newspapers with their poems. Vaachi’s poem in Punjabi Kesari ‘Prem and Shanti’ delivered the message of peace. Sahib Singh’s poem ‘Aman Shanti’ in Jag Bani is also an appreciable piece of poetry. While Ravneet Singh’s poem ‘Peace’ in Ampm news also won our hearts.

Our young poet Harshita Babbar IX-A also got her poem published in Poetry Anthology, ‘The Florist Way’ in the book The Green Serenade.

Kartik Chadha, Sajal Nigotia, Bishav Kundal (X-A) researched on soil health and wrote an article ‘Soil Health’ means more growth and wealth in Sawera Times. They also won hearts with their great research skills.

Gurnoor Kaur, Jasmeen Kaut, Kasak, Sonam Gupya of X-A etched their mark in Punjab Times with their article ‘Saving our Oceans with Marine Parks’.

Tanav Mahajan (IV A) wrote a beautiful poem.

Ipsa Taxali and Chehak (X-A) also got their article published as Natural Pest Control Using Ladybugs in ‘Recent Times’.

The Principal Dr. Sonia Mago appreciated them for their distinguished efforts and motivated them to spark nation with their words and bring change in society.

The top performing students in SOF, National Cyber and International Social Studies Olympiad were awarded medals and certificates during morning assembly.

In Cyber Olympiad, Madhurpreet (3-C) and Harman Kajla (9-A) got Gold Medal of Distinction with Zonal Ranks 17 and 7 respectively.

In Social Studies Olympiad Sana Sachdeva got Gold Medal of Distinction while Bhoomika Ahuja (7-B) got Gold Medal of Excellence.

Peer educators are the main source of information to the adolescents. Peer education is an effective tool for promoting healthy behaviour among young people. This innovative CBSE Peer Educators Life Skills Leadership Training Programme was held from 15th April-19 April,2024 in an online mode. Four students from Swami Sant Dass Public School, Jalandhar participated in this prestigious programme as "peer educators"across the country along with Teacher Mentors Ms.Damanpreet Kaur PRT(Social Science), and Ms. Surabhi Sharma PGT(Psychology), school counselor. Harman Kajla(Class-IX), Arshia Handa(Class- X), Khyati Khurana( Class- XI) and Kanwarnoor Singh( Class-XII) showcased their active participation in the four day fulfilling sessions. The significant themes of the programme highlighted some critical issues in an adolescent's life like family bonding and Caring-Communication, resilience, Career Counseling, Interpersonal Skills, Creating positive peer pressure, responsibility and trust along with freedom, Digital Literacy and impact of Social Media on an adolescent's psychosocial environment and many more. Our students interacted with various Resource Persons present in the peer educator programme. They unleashed their potential as they read different slides shown by the experts and also shared their own unique experiences as adolescents on some pertinent issues like anger, being good listeners, how as peer educators they can help students go on healthy diet, inclusion of momentous life skills etc. They also gave their insightful answers to the resource persons on the psychological impact of online games and social media in one's life and their overall well being. Our peer educators exhibited their great communication skills with full zeal and energy as they frequently showed their inquisitiveness by reflecting on their opinions about the role of psychosocial factors impacting the mental health of the adolescents.

Principal Dr. Sonia Mago applauded the efforts of the students and encouraged them to utilize their potentials in such global programmes where they can be vigilant regarding the role of peer educators as empowering and creative for the overall enhancement of their personality in adolescence stage of life.

It’s a rare opportunity to participate and present your idea on such a renowned platform.

To reiterate the need to create awareness about fitness and sports among school children, who are the future of India, the Fit India Mission under the aegis of Sports Authority of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched second edition of Fit India Quiz for schools across the country.

Our students Akhilesh Singh Panwar from XII-C and Raaghav Arora from XII-A participated in FIT India quiz competition and got 1st position in Punjab state and qualified for national level.

The principal Dr. Sonia Mago motivated them to achieve success in the next level.

Bhavya Batra (8-C) has set the world record in ‘Exclusive World Records’ for making and presenting the most portraits and sketches of diverse personalities by a kid. He has started making portraits and sketches at the age of 4 and made sketches of 36 diverse personalities of India at the age of 13 years two months and 24 days. The principal Dr. Sonia Mago also appreciated his immense talent and motivated him to turn out to be a Picaso as little endeavours will emerge into big bursts of talent.

Dance is an engrossing form of art that mesmerises the dancer and the audience too. 10th National dance competition was organised by Lovely Professional University and in this competition Ritvik Mehta (2C) secured FIRST POSITION.

In Radiance Dance Sports Championship held at Bhupindra Khalsa Sr Sec School ,Moga he clinched SECOND POSITION.

The principal Dr. Sonia Mago also motivated him to catch the opportunistic butterflies and let them bloom to suck the nectar of success.

The Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan is the world's oldest Hindustani Classical Music Festival, held each year in the holy seat of music, Baba Harballabh's samadh – a saint and proponent of Hindustani Classical Music. The inaugural Sammelan was conducted in Jalandhar in 1875 at the Sidh Peeth-Shri Devi Talab. Shree Baba Harivallabh Sangeet

Mahasabha, Jalandhar is totally dedicated to the preservation, propagation and promotion of Indian Classical Music. Our students performed at this devotional ensemble and felt mesmerised with their eloquent experience. They recited a shabad and Harivallabh Vandana. With applause came confidence to bring forth the carriers of our enriched tradition.

In Sahodaya ‘Folk Song‘ singing competition held at Lala Jagat Narain Public school Jalandhar,

our student Simran (11D) bagged, Third Prize among 22 participant teams. She reserved her recognition with her talented expression of voice.

Scientific acumen is a pride possession of a science aspirant.

Our students put their best efforts in models and projects to bring into light new inventions and ideas. Loveleena of class 11 B participated in Science Exhibition organised by Chandigarh University in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. She came flying high with THIRD PRIZE and a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-. The display of projects was held at Desh Bhagat Yaadgar, Hall, Jalandhar. Our student will also get an opportunity to interact with scientists of different fields, a visit to high end labs of Chandigarh University and will perform practical sessions under the guidance of experts.

There is another feather in our cap as we achieved FAP Award for academic excellence-a proud moment for us again . It’s a hat-trick by our institution to receive this prestigious award. We received this award for considerable number of students above 95% in X and XII board results. A cherry on the cake was ‘ Best Principal Award’ conferred on Principal, Dr Sonia Mago, for her dedicated efforts in the field of education. Mrs Sonia Bajaj (Coordinator Activity) represented the school at this glittering event.

We are again proud to announce that Anshya Aggarwal and Jayati bagged ‘Pride of Punjab’ FAP Award. Anshya reflected her brainy feat with 99.8% marks while Jayati teamed up her brain with skills by achieving 98% marks in board exams. Their distinguished achievement let them to leave a trail of followers as they proved their academic excellence by attaining appreciable scores. They received award for scoring 98% and above. It was a great momentous moment as they received awards from one and only Kiran Bedi.

With this thought in mind our students participated in Kreative League competition based on Robotics-a venture of IIT Bombay.

Janya (7-B), Kanav Gupta (7-B), Mishthi (6-B) cleared Zonal round and will represent Jalandhar in Final Round to be held at IIT Bombay. This Kreativity League challenge helped them to unleash creativity skills and problem-solving skills. This also enhanced their ability to apply to theoretical knowledge of core concepts by solving given problems.
